Still working on the panels but it's coming along

Here are the latest pics on my progress with the Dogwood Diner mural.  It seems to me I've been painting like a mad woman and yet I'm still not done...you really can't see the prep work when you look at the pics - or the time spent designing the characters and scene.  I'm still very excited to put all the pieces together and see the completed project.

I'm headed to the garden today to finish the ceiling and sketch 2 more panels (the juke box with the cool dog leaning on it and the chef/kitchen wall).  Alas, we are expecting t-storms down south this weekend and I'm not sure if I will be able to get much painting done at the garden as the tree house has no doors or windows - bummer.

My time is ticking away quickly, April is the deadline with a grand opening next weekend. Push push push :)

Prepping wall panels

Well my dining room is currently a paint shop, luckily I have had no catastrophic paint spills on the hard wood floors but there is always tomorrow-HA!  Anyway, the first coat of primer has been applied.

Tomorrow the 2nd coat of primer (?) or right on to the base coat.  I chose Behr exterior paint for the interior walls (there are no doors or windows on the tree house)so it will stand up to the elements.  I think the one coat of primer & the Behr paint will cover just fine -it better at $27+ a gallon.

Inside the tree house I still have to prep and paint 2 tall panels on the back wall, the loft, the ladder, window frames, and the floor!!!!!!!   Ai-yi-yi I hope my body can keep up!  Stay tuned!
