Inspiration Springtime

After spending most of March and April couped up in the house working on projects I needed some sunshine!

So I spent the whole day working in my yard yesterday....awwww I needed a full day of glorious sunshine.  And on top of that a dear friend of mine came over all excited to help!!!!  How lucky am I?  She wore me out - ha ha.

I still feel a need to get in touch with nature so I think I will grab my camera and sketch pad and go wander around the Huntsville Botanical Garden.  I can't wait to see where they have placed my butterfly and to see all of there beautiful flowers!!!

Yes. i'm still here.

Well after a month and a half of planning, designing and executing 2 large art projects...I spent the past week trying to get some spring cleaning done, planning a birthday party, catching up with some of my girlfriends and trying not to let the little things in life ruin my days.

I've still got the butterfly opening at the HSVBG on May 5th to look forward to but need to organize my thoughts on that.  Lots of birthdays coming up including my stepdaughters 16th bday.  Gardening, domestic duties, keeping up with family far away etc. 

I've taken it easy today so I would be upbeat and energetic for my date with my husband tonight but he came home a while ago not feeling well and all I can think about is how I could have been more productive if I knew our date was going to fall through *sigh*

My Fabulous Butterfly!

Yea!  It's complete!  I'm very happy to have been given this opportunity and will be visiting the Huntsville Botanical Garden frequently.  I hope you'll stop by too. (click on the pics for a better view)

Hooray!  The base is more or less complete.  Tomorrow I will be sealing the entire piece and will post some more pics.

Paint Paint Paint

It seems like I've been working on my butterfly for the Huntsville Botanical Garden forever.  I'm so close to finishing...1 more day of painting and 1 day to seal!  Hooray!

Plus painting a Superhero photo stand-in (3' x5') and delivering it by Friday! AAAAAAAAAAAH!  Hit me with some super strong coffee!!!! 

"Crunch" Time

I'm busy trying to finish up the butterfly project...waiting on a special sealer to come via mail.  I'm going to be cutting it close time wise.  I'm still trying to figure out a design on the base...I just started painting without really thinking it through and now -halfway through- I'm having a brain cramp. OY

My project for the NCAC is due on the 13th!  10 days away and I haven't started it! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  I've got to get busy!

And then a million other things to do....breathe in...breathe out and turn off this computer!
